RED UMBRELLA WALK FOR SICKLE CELL

According to wikipedia Sickle-cell disease (SCD), or sickle-cell anaemia (SCA) or drepanocytosis, is a hereditary blood disorder, characterized by red blood cells that assume an abnormal, rigid, sickle shape. Sickling decreases the cells’ flexibility and results in a risk of various life-threatening complications.

To Celebrate the World Sickle Cell Day in Lagos, Nigeria; SAMI, Dabma Sickle CELL Foundation, Tony May Foundation,
Genotype Foundation and Progeny Foundation are calling on us all to attend the “RED
UMBRELLA WALK FOR SICKLE CELL” which holds JUNE 19, 2014 AT 8AM.

Sickle Cell Disease affects us all, and we want you to help us stop the Sickle Cell cycle. The Walk is created to help raise awareness of Sickle Cell Disease and to support adults, children and families affected with Sickle
Cell Disease.

WALK begins at Bonny Camp (Under Bridge) Victoria Island to NTA 2 Network Center, Ahmadu Bello Way VI Lagos.
