TechSoup Global, Open Institute and Making All Voices Count (MAVC) will host Buntwani 2015 from 25-26 August in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The theme of Buntwani 2015 is, “The Next Step in Innovation for Good Governance: Moving the dialogue forward from potential to impact”.
Buntwani 2015 will be a global gathering of actors from the civil society, technology, donor, research, government and policy sectors focusing on the intersection of governance and innovation. It will provide a platform for reflection, analysis and candid dialogue on the impact of technology-supported initiatives aimed at empowering citizens to voice their concerns and demands, and improving governments’ responsiveness and accountability to their citizens. The first Buntwani event was held in October 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Participation in Buntwani 2015 is by invitation-only, and will be limited to 100-120 people.
However, we are still looking for more potential participants from West Africa, South America and South East Asia, and any suggestions and expressions of interest are welcome.
Buntwani 2015 will be a practical, problem-solving event. It will shape stronger approaches and new strategic collaborations, focused around the unique challenges and opportunities associated with technology interventions in support of good governance.
